Boxes for Artist's book

I custom built magnet wooden boxes for the collaborative artist book "Gringo Death Coloring Book", including text by Raquel Salas Rivera, book design, construction and letterpress printing by Erica Mena, and linoleum prints by Mariana Ramos Ortiz. The edition of these books was made as a series of only 5 copies.

The enclosures open in half to reveal the artist's book.

Design Process

I focused the design of the boxes on the movement of opening and closing, paying keen attention to the fasteners and joinery.
